I received a Nikon camera for my birthday and i was bought on a wimm just so I can have something to open. I had a Sony Cybershot pretty old and outdated so a new cam was in order.

I researched a lot of cameras and I was going to get a Nikon so I got the S610. should had waited now they offer a touch screen. So this is what I have, it’s a very nice camera basically turn it on and shoot only if you have it set to AUTO then it’s all good. I paid about 0 for a package camera, case and 4gb memory card.

This is a very simple camera to use it takes outstanding pictures especially with the wide lens. Once you learn the other setting you can take some very nice pictures in all different types of light, indoors and outdoors it does the job. It even does movies depending on how much memory you have available.

The only thing I did not like was the battery life, I tried to by an extra one but they were not yet available. I did buy one in the early part of June when I was in Las Vegas, and I also picked up an 8gb SDHC memory card too.

Not for indoors – JH, NYC –
I received this camera as a gift. I mainly use it indoors to take pictures of a very busy small child. The quality of the pictures, especially in the evening, has been disappointing to say the least. I don’t think I’ve ever had a camera that takes such grainy, slow pictures. The camera has very slow response time and the colors come out blotchy. The focus, with the flash, is an extremely small section of the picture. For instance, in one picture, my child’s hands are perfectly clear while his face is ever so slightly blurred. I would not recommend this camera at all.

I first read about this camera being recommended in Consumer Reports. They were impressed with pictures taken in low light, I am too. Taking photos of an active child in a room with just lamps on after dark gives outstanding results. I’m really pleased with quality of both indoor and outdoor photos.

I bought this camera for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loves it. It does suck the battery life a little more than normal because of the WiFi, but it is worth it to be able to send photos where ever there is an internet connection. It was nice to send this is where we are pics on vacation to people back home and make them jealous! Also, large screen is wonderful! Nikon makes a great camera!

Am used to a much bigger, more expensive camera (but only 4MP)– takes beautiful pictures. Wanted one I could put in my pocketbook and always “be ready”. Having a lot of trouble getting used to it — no view finder (have to just look at large screen); in bright sun, can’t see picture being taken — am looking for a sun screen that might help; went to print off my pictures on my PictureMate printer and the disk would not fit in — too new, I guess; had to download pictures on to computer and then print — wasn’t crazy with the outcome. Tried to take pictures of fireworks display — worthless — either the fireworks were blurry or the people that were in the picture with the fireworks — had it on fireworks setting. Guess I have to keep fooling around with it and get used to it.
